Join the Ocean Racers team for one of our favorite offshore races -- the Caribbean 600!
The beautiful route takes racers on a 600-mile course around eleven Caribbean islands. This is the only true annual offshore race in the West Indies, attracting professional teams from around the world to compete in paradise. But don’t let the backdrop fool you, this will be a challenging competition filled with strong winds, acceleration zones and arduous wind shadows.
The race begins just outside of English Harbour in Antigua. The fleet will then head north, passing a mark off Barbuda, then gybe over to St Kitts & Nevis, up to Saba, over to St Barth’s then circling St Maarten and heading south for Guadeloupe. A brief sprint back north to a mark off Barbuda, then back to Antigua for the finish.
The competition is gearing up to be fierce. Expect to compete against former Volvo Ocean Race champions as well as the Volvo 60 & 70 models. This race is suitable for those with prior racing or offshore sailing experience. Those without racing or offshore experience are recommended to join one of our offshore passages or shorter offshore races before applying to the Caribbean 600.
