2024 La Course de l'Alliance

The ultimate cruising-racing vacation!

For two decades, the Sint Maarten Yacht Club has hosted La Course de l'Alliance, a special 3-day event that celebrates the sailing camaraderie and friendly competition between neighboring islands St. Maarten, St. Barths, and Anguilla.

The 3-day rally is a favorite amongst local sailors, who enjoy this nothing-but-fun kick off to an otherwise intensive Caribbean racing season. After a week of getting to know Hermes and cruising the surrounding waters, you'll be ready to take on La Course de l'Alliance like the locals!

Day 1, Friday: Race from Simpson Bay, St. Maarten to Gustavia, St. Barths
Enjoy lifestyles of the rich and famous as you sail into the famous capital of St. Barths, stroll the streets and peep designer clothes and superyachts along the harborfront. Or take the beach bum route and enjoy a festive paella dinner on the beach at St. Barths Yacht Club with fellow competitors. The choice is yours!

Day 2, Saturday: Race from St. Barths to Road Bay, Anguilla
Grab a final warm, freshly-baked croissant in St. Barths in the morning before setting sail for Anguilla! St. Maarten to port or starboard? Race Committee will determine based on conditions for the fleet, but the destination will remain the same: the pristine white sand beaches of Anguilla. Enjoy the classic Caribbean beach shack vibes in this old fishing town.

Day 3, Sunday: Race from Anguilla back to St. Maarten
Sail back to St. Maarten for the final leg of the rally. Pass through the iconic Simpson Bay lifting bridge, and celebrate life with a sundown drink and prize giving celebration at the legendary Sint Maarten Yacht Club, hosts of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta!
