Transatlantic Ocean Race

Race across the Atlantic Ocean on our Pogo 12.50 in this legendary transatlantic co-hosted by NRV and the Royal Ocean Racing Club. The Atlantic Anniversary Regatta East is the final leg of the 9-month international racing circuit, and this finale is expected to be grand.

The race begins in Bermuda as world racing yachts converge from their finishes of the Antigua Bermuda Race and Newport Bermuda Race. Joining crew will arrive in Bermuda by July 1 to begin training and race prep for this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Enjoy the race atmosphere and buzz in Bermuda for the week, then shake off any pre-race jitters at the Racers Welcome Party on Friday, July 6. Saturday we’ll do our final preparations and close up any remaining business on land. Get ready to embrace the Atlantic Ocean for race start on Sunday, July 8.

The route is pretty simple, start in Bermuda, leave UK to port and finish in Cuxhaven, Germany. The race will be anything but simple. Despite being summertime, the Northern Atlantic can be fierce. Expect a variety of conditions as we race 3500 NM across the Atlantic and English Channel.

Our ocean crossing will be celebrated by a warm welcome in Germany as we are greeted by the pioneering hosts of this great race, Norddeutscher Regatta Verein. Your accomplishment will be further heightened by the illustrious race village atmosphere as you help welcome in fellow competitors and be treated like celebrities by racing fans and visitors. The big Prize Giving Party will be hosted on Saturday, July 28 followed by a Farewell Parade on Sunday, July 29.

This race is not suited for novice sailors. The race organizers require all crew to have offshore sailing experience and parts of the crew to have ocean safety qualifications. We will be hosting multiple training days and other training opportunities for all crew to get up to par for this world-class event. Expect to dedicate the entire month of July to training, racing and celebrating this bucket-list race
